Dr. Lavery attended Rutgers College, majoring in chemistry. He graduated from New Jersey Dental School in 1981. After serving in Public Health Service for three years, Dr. Lavery started in private practice. He has been at his current location for over 25 years.
Dr. Lavery prides himself in keeping up with current trends and technology in dentistry. He has taken hundreds of courses over the years to provide the most up to date care to his patients. Two areas that Dr. Lavery has been especially interested in are: implant placement and non-surgical gum treatments. Dr. Lavery feels that with the mounting evidence of the impact of gum inflammation on the rest of the body, it is more important than ever to be able to give his patients the best options to eliminate gum disease and in the process, keep them healthier. For tooth replacement, in many cases Dr. Lavery feels that implants are now the best option available. To reduce some of the barriers to the process, Dr. Lavery is now placing implants as well as restoring them.
Dr. Lavery is married and has four children. On his off days, he enjoys golfing, swimming, biking and skiing.
